Running a high school well -as you can probably guess- is hard work. It’s worth it though, especially when we see the tremendous gains our students make academically and socially and how connected they are to our community. The icing on top? When our students’ parents recognize our dedication and let us know!
At the School for Entrepreneurship and Technology (SET High), a tuition-free 9th-12th grade high school in San Diego, we are invested in our students and their families and we love it when they share that love right back at us! Connecting with High School Students
At SET High we believe in the necessity of connections and community: they make a difference!
We want and make sure to get to know students as the awesome people they are.
We make sure our classes are engaging so you want to come to school (attendance matters!) and that our teachers and staff are diverse in backgrounds and teaching styles so there is someone for each and every student to connect with at school.

Engaging Electives
Have you seen a list of our exciting classes? We offer rigorous academics, sure, covering California’s UC A-G requirements and even providing classes through our partnership with Mesa College.
We also provide engaging electives like our Project You class. This class is geared towards 12th graders as they prepare to head out into the world (don’t worry 9th graders, you too have your own special class, called Leadership SET Style…and every grade has the option to take on their passion project).
Students learn essential skills for real-world success, focusing on practical knowledge, personal development, and key life skills. Every week, students explore a different theme and examine real-world problems, explore solutions through research and expert insights, and are encouraged via reflective discussions. Then on Wednesdays, students get to work on their passion project that they choose and apply that week’s theme.

AI in High School
SET High likes to take on the gritty challenges of being a high school student in the 21st century head-on and nowhere is this more evident than the question of ChatGPT AI in school work. We’ve customized a ChatGPT program, using it to accelerate students’ learning while also explaining how to make AI work for you. It’s a very important tool in our modern world and students need to know how to use AI responsibly.
