At SET High, we know how to make lemonade. We’re providing free 1:1 tutoring support to students who have fallen behind due to the COVID-19 crisis. If any SET High student is not where they should be academically — we have a new grant enabling us to facilitate targeted 1:1 support.

This 1:1 tutoring support from SET High staff allows our awesome students to gain confidence to later excel on their own in our free public high school. Plus, our new 1:1 tutoring program reduces time in Summer School this year and next!
Personalized Learning
Critical thinking and risk taking abound here at SET; but success isn’t just academic. It’s also personal. Meeting challenges head-on, persevering when it’s tough, testing leadership skills — these are the ways our SET High students show their grit and growth. By offering 1:1 tutoring to help our public high school students during the school day, we support every unique learner in a personalized way. As we serve 9th-12th graders, we have expectations, too. 1:1 tutoring is a shared agreement to commit to this relationship and make every effort to meet with the tutor, a dedicated and expert member of our SET faculty, in-person at school.
Parents are our Partners
As always, SET High parents are our partners in this process and we use a comments section for tracking how every student is faring during their 1:1 tutoring time. We want to make the most of this valuable time together. We stay in close touch as we close learning gaps.
We want SET High to be a great fit for every student. We enroll and accept students any time of year and offer tours and shadow days to enable students and parents to decide if SET High is the right school for their student and family. We deeply believe in SET High as a fantastic place to learn and grow, safely and imaginatively.
